I also put some other video clips on here that I had left on my tape.  It includes some video of James, Josh’s horse show and our trip to Wheeler farm with my brother Matt’s family (Matt, Angela, William and Grace).

Dave, my boss, approached me about a commercial that

Jackie live on Good Things Utah. You can see her up there, and on the tv monitor to the left.

would be airing on ABC channel 4 and KSL channel 5.  At first we planned to create it in Flash, but then realized it would be even better to film it.  The only problem was, we didn’t have any equipment besides our video camera we didn’t have a studio to shoot it in.  We had a week to make it so we rushed to get it done. Dave purchased Final Cut Pro (video editing software), a boom microphone, lights, paint (for the blue screen) and had walls built for a studio.

Dave volunteered Jackie to be the actress, since she has been the one to do the voice over work for us for our Flash introductory videos on the website.  The day she showed up we started filming right away.  We got everything we needed and I started editing it immediately.  It was a miracle it all came together in the time we had to do it in.

The next week, we were to be airing the commercial AND Jackie was to go on “Good Things Utah” live on

ABC 4 to talk about Rhapsody5 Rewards.  She did a GREAT job for both.

It was a busy but very fun week!  Below is the commercial that was aired (still airing the rest of January) and the live segment of Jackie.

With that said… Jackie and I went snowboarding for our 4 year anniversary!  It was her first time ever and we had such a great time.  Well, that’s from my perspective, you will have to ask Jackie what she thought of it.  Some people say on your first date you should take a girl snowboarding to see how quick she loses her temper.  She was patient, and caught on very quickly.  Of course we had some good tips from a ski instructor who was passing by.

Jackie learned from trial by fire.  I had her go on the intermediate slopes to start off since (in my opinion) it is harder to learn snowboarding when you are moving slow).  She didn’t hesitate… well she had no choice, we were already on the lift and there was only one way down!

She was a champ and by the time we were halfway down the mountain, she had already caught on and could stay up by herself for a while down the intermediate slopes.

Well, your legs can only stay up for so long, and she got tired after a few hours.  We still had quite a ways to go down the hill, so I suggested we sit on out snowboards and sled (bad idea, although very fun).  I didn’t realize it was against the rules and we were yelled at by the ski patrol who were on the ski lifts, as well as the ones we passed by.  Not to mention some other random people.  But it was fun nonetheless. 

“Heavenly Father, please bless Grandma and Grandpa. Thankful for Harry to be home, and for James take a nap, and Jason get to work safely. (Breath – thinking) And for Harry and James and Jason…. (mumbles) ….In the name of Jesus Christ, (slowly lifting his hands in the air then down to his lap) A-men.”

Our trip to the pet store to buy our first ever Barron family pet was so much fun. Josh picked out his very own Beta fish. He is a deep blue with shimmers of auqua and red and purple in his tail, if you ask me. If you ask Josh, “he’s brown.”

On our way home from picking up our new pet we explained to Josh that his fish needed a name. We started naming off names and to each one he would think about it, look at the fish, then say no. Finally he said, ”

Harry!” I thought I would take it a step further and told him that now he needed a last name, “Freckle!” So there you have it….Harry Freckle is the name of our first pet!

(If you look closely Harry is at the bottom right of the “bowl.” He sort of blends in to the rocks.)

Josh explored new levels of independence while at the fair too. I have to admit I was nervous letting him ride a ride alone. (I even tried sitting on the kiddie ride with him when I “had to go in and make sure he was seated properly”) I was kicked out. So, I dismounted the ride and watched Josh with mixed emotion as the ride started up. I was sure he would look nervous or start calling out my name….but no. I LOVED being on that ride all by himself.
