Introducing the “Neti Pot”

Ever felt the need for a nasal irrigation? Feeling a little stuffy? Or just simply getting tired of blowing your nose? Are you ready for a new alternative? Try the “Neti Pot”! We did, and we LOVE it! It’s actually a hilarious sensation of an experience only to be shared with those you know and trust. In one nostril and out the other! You are very brave for posting this! *It made me laugh because my Dad, who has horrible sinus troubles, has one of those too! And he actually uses it and said it’s helped a lot.*

Are you using plain tap water? I hope not — nasal irrigation will be MUCH friendlier to your nose and sinuses if you add a small amount of salt to the water.

Another product that works similarly to the Neti Pot is a squeeze bottle, sold in major drug store chains as the “Ayr Saline Nasal Rinse Kit”. The Ayr product comes with a bunch of salt packets, each one the right amount for the 6-ounce squeeze bottle.

Irrigation sounds gross and does take some getting used to, but it’s definitely helped my chronically stuffy nose. I have to remember to keep some Kleenex in my shirt pocket, though, because my nose may decide at any moment to start dripping water (especially if I bend over or look down)!
